Pocono Chamber’s Leaders of Tomorrow Presents Donations to Area Non-Profits

December 20, 2019 | Stroudsburg, PA – It is the season of giving and the Pocono Chamber of Commerce’s PLOT Committee is doing just that!

Earlier this year on Saturday, October 5th the Pocono Chamber’s PLOT Committee hosted the region’s first ever Pickle Me Poconos Festival on Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg. This event drew in over 3,000 attendees, garnered over 85,000 likes on social media, and highlighted all things pickles! The event, designed to bring a new and fun festival to East Stroudsburg, brought the community and tourists together during East Stroudsburg University’s Annual Family Weekend.

The Eastburg Community Alliance (ECA) and 1% for Nature were selected to receive a portion of the 2019 Pickle Me Poconos profits. On Tuesday, December 10th Marlyn Kissner, Director of PCC; Elizabeth Blose, Event Planning & Logistics Coordinator of PCC; Sarah Wallace, PLOT Committee Chairwoman; and Tiffany Cappuccino PLOT Committee Vice-Chairwoman, attended the ECA’s monthly meeting to present a $1,500 donation. Troy Nauman, of the ECA Board of Directors accepted the donation on behalf of the ECA. Then, on Thursday, December 19th during the PLOT’s Ugly Sweater 2.0 Mixer the PLOT Committee presented a $500 to 1% for Nature. Liz, Blose, Mike Moreno, Regional Coordinator of PCC, and Tiffany Cappuccino presented the donation check to 1% for Nature’s Director, Samantha Holbert.

The PLOT Committee chose the deserving non-profit organizations. The mission of the Eastburg Community Alliance, or ECA, is to advance the sense of place, quality of life, and economic vitality of downtown East Stroudsburg. 1% for Nature is a consortium of local businesses working to support the conservation and public enjoyment of wildlife habitat, trails, streams and parks in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The Committee felt that both organizations embodied a mission that would bring forth positive ventures to the community when utilizing their donations.

The Pocono Chamber is in the early stages of planning the 2020 Pickle Me Poconos Festival. As more details are confirmed applications will be available for non-profit’s who are seeking the opportunity to be a partner and beneficiary of the 2020 Pickle Me Pocono’s festival.
